Eucharistic display for Corpus Christi

This Sunday we celebrate the great Solemnity of Corpus Christi which translates as The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Indeed, it is a day for us to give thanks to Almighty God for the gift of His Son Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Although, at the moment we are unable to physically receive Holy Communion due to the Covid19 restrictions which resulted in the cessation of public Masses. Nevertheless, we continue to make a Spiritual Communion, and if able, watch the live stream of Holy Mass and participate in a different way but at the same time looking forward to the day when we can gather in Church for Mass once again.

This Solemnity is usually a day when a number of children in the Parish make their First Holy Communion and it is also tradition to have a Blessed Sacrament Procession after Mass during which various Eucharistic hymns are sung.

Prayers during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

This year we will be live streaming a Holy Hour from 2:30pm until 3:30pm in addition to the Sunday Mass at 10:30am. Please do join us via YouTube – search SJHN Morecambe.

Let us pray that we have a deeper reverence for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and be made more aware of this wondrous Sacrament as we wait in hope for the day when we will be able to physically receive Holy Communion at Mass again.
